Most mornings Northern New Mexico wakes up to light winds and cool temperatures–perfect weather for hot air balloon flights. Santa Fe Balloons owner and pilot, Johnny Lewis has a spotless safety record during his 30 years of ballooning. Johnny's experience includes flights for National Geographic on an Archaeology expedition in Luxor, Egypt, as well as numerous balloon races throughout the U.S. Johnny has also flown and performed stunts in numerous movies and documentaries. He shares his love of hot air ballooning with every flight he makes.

Your hot air balloon flight
Your balloon will gently lift off as you start on one of the most romantic and memorable adventures of a lifetime! The balloon becomes one with the wind, and it is as if you are sitting still and the world is moving below you. Your pilot will fly you through the canyons, taking you aloft to get a bird’s eye view of the stunning high desert land of Las Barrancas (The Ravines). During your hour-long flight your pilot will demonstrate the operation of the aircraft and possibly give a little flight instruction. The chase crew will follow the balloon, with radio contact during the whole flight. As your balloon gently touches down, the Santa Fe Balloon Company crew will be there to greet you with a complimentary champagne toast and light brunch, a romantic French tradition which dates back to 1783.
