Enjoy the pristine beauty of Northern New Mexico
Red Cloud Ranch is a beautiful mountain getaway on 220 acres adjacent to New Mexico's Carson National Forest, 13 miles east of Taos. Rolling meadows of wildflowers and songbirds, forests and cold bubbling streams provide a retreat-like atmosphere. Red Cloud Ranch is a magical place: whether you choose fly fishing, biking or hiking pristine wilderness trails, or enjoying the native plants and wildlife, the Northern New Mexico Rocky Mountains are a haven for artists, writers, honeymooners and families. The ranch's two lodging units each sleep three adults or a family of four, and are each equipped with a small refrigerator and microwave oven for snacks and drinks. Sumptuous and healthful meals are served in the Welcome Cabin overlooking the pond. Outside the Welcome Cabin on the adjacent deck is a seven person hot tub, ready for your enjoyment.
The Guest House is a handsomely crafted log house of red fir, cut at the ranch. Its queen-sized log bed, bunk, armoire, dining table and benches were styled by local Taos and Santa Fe furniture makers. A wraparound deck overlooks the trout pond and distant views of Wheeler Peak, the highest point in New Mexico.
Rocky Mountain sunsets and starry summer skies
The romantic Barn Loft sits comfortably aloft in its own cedar-sided barn, with exposed beam ceilings and views of the meadows, mountains and forest. It is dressed up in southwestern cowboy decor, with a handmade queen log bed, armoire and game table. The bathroom is decorated with talavera tile. The small deck off the loft or the larger sun deck below is a peaceful spot to read or enjoy the setting sun.
